£28,900 pro rata based on 35 hours per week

We are looking for someone to develop and manage the Uniting Communities Project which works in partnership with Café West and Community Works. The project will engage with and support people from all sections of the community, recruit and train peer mentors, and ensure community centres are well used.  We are looking for someone who is committed and passionate about community development, inclusion and connecting people.

The successful candidate will be experienced in project management and community / health development at both a strategic and operational level. You will be able to engage with those who are most isolated and successfully work to address health inequalities.

The Uniting Communities Partnership, made up of HALE, Café West and CommunityWorks, are looking to recruit 3 Connect Workers with one based in each centre. We are looking for individuals who are committed and passionate about community development and connecting people.

You will engage with and support people from all sections of the community, set up and manage groups, and ensure community centres are well used.

The successful candidate will have experience working in community based projects, have excellent communication skills and be able to engage with those who are most isolated.

Post 1: based at HALE and working in Shipley, Baildon, Windhill, Wrose, Frizinghall and Bolton Wood

Post 2: based at Café West and working in Allerton, Heaton, Wilsden and Cottingley

Post 3: based at Community Works and working in Undercliffe, Peel Park, Barkerend and Bradford Moor

We are recruiting for voluntary roles as Trustees and a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.

HALE is an award-winning charity, working with diverse communities, with the highest health inequalities, across the Bradford District. We achieve our mission “to improve health where there is greatest need” by delivering a wide range of projects and services with individuals and communities.

Whether you’re an experienced Trustee or wanting to take your first step at Board level we would love to talk to you.  We’re particularly looking for people who have one or more of the following skills:

  • Financial management
  • Business and Social Enterprise
  • Legal

As a trustee you will get:

  • Opportunities to share your skills and give back to your local community
  • Opportunities to make strategic decisions and learn new skills

The expected time commitment is around 4 hours a month covering formal and informal meetings, events and reading time.
