Community Artist – Pathways to Wellbeing Project

HALE are seeking a freelance early career artist to join our exciting new project “Pathways to Wellbeing” – a partnership with Community Works and Café West, supported by Bradford 2025 City of Culture.

The Role:

  • 35 days of work at £160 per day
  • Work alongside experienced artist Claire Wellesley-Smith, receiving mentoring and support
  • Collaborate with community groups in Shipley, Undercliffe, and Allerton
  • Co-produce creative activities that improve health and emotional resilience
  • Help develop high-quality art experiences that reduce reliance on clinical treatments

About You:

We welcome applications from locally connected artists within the first 7 years of their practice (regardless of age), including those who have had a significant break and are now returning to their work. Experience in socially engaged arts practice is valuable but not essential as mentoring will be provided.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference through creativity while developing your practice with professional support. Join us in using arts to improve confidence, self-esteem, and social connections in Bradford communities.
