We asked people to complete a survey to help us find out what people in Bradford District and Craven do to look after themselves and their families.
We also wanted to know what help people might like so that they can look after themselves better and stay well for longer.
We had an amazing 1,200 people complete the survey and the findings from the survey will help decision makers plan and deliver local services that support you and your family’s health and well being.

Key highlights from the report:
94% had accessed advice and information about general health and wellbeing in the past 6 months.
- 55% accessed this information online
- 53% visited their GP
- 32% spoke to their pharmacist
People are active in educating themselves about their general health and wellbeing.
When people have a minor Illness:
- 40% – Purchase over the counter medicine
- 28% visited their GP
- 12% Home remedy
- 7% spoke to their pharmacist
83% people strongly agreed that people should try their pharmacist more often before going to their doctor. BUT Only 7% actually went to the pharmacist themselves.
